TESTIMONIALS OF OUR WORK

The Dr. Rute Matos Veterinary Centre is very proud of the role it plays in the community and in the lives of its clients and so it is with both great affection and a feeling of mission accomplished that we may share these testimonials of those who visit us.

Bianca - Hernia in the lumbosacral spinal region

Bianca, a 12 year old female, arrived for her consultation with a hernia in the lumbosacral spinal region. It happened while climbing the stairs. Bianca had paralysis of the posterior limbs, i.e. she could not stand (she dragged herself), had reduced reflexes, deep sensitivity and was unable to control her sphincter. We decided to use Electrical Acupuncture therapy without any other treatment. And, at the end of the second week of treatment, she started to stand up, still with some difficulty, and a few days later she started walking without needing any help. Today, Bianca already walks normally and without any difficulty.

Kike - Herniated lumbosacral spinal region

Kike, a 6 year old male, turned up approximately one month ago with a hernia in the lumbosacral spinal region. The little fellow had paresis of the posterior limbs, that is, he could not stand (dragged himself), had reduced reflexes, deep sensitivity and was unable to control his sphincter. We began injectable therapy appropriate to the case but without any noticeable sign of improvement. At the end of this therapy, we opted to start electrical acupuncture. And, 15 days later, he began standing up, without falling and, a few days later, walking without the need for any back support harness. Nowadays, Kike walks around normally as if nothing had ever happened. He is a super happy dog that brings delight to his family.

Ollie - Herniated Lumbosacral region

Ollie, an 8-year-old girl, came to the consultation with a hernia in the lumbosacral region. Happened to go up a small walk the day before. Ollie had hindlimb paresis, i.e., she was unable to stand up (crept), had reduced reflexes, had profound sensation, and was able to control her sphincters. We instituted appropriate injectable therapy, but there was no sign of improvement. At the end of this therapy, we opted for electrical acupuncture. And behold, the day after the first treatment the girl started to stand up, still with some difficulty and a few days later she started to walk without needing help. Today Ollie walks normally, without any difficulty.
